The Southern California National Tooling and Machining Association (SoCal NTMA) connects and supports the region’s precision manufacturing community. Through networking events, education, and industry collaboration, we help manufacturers stay competitive, share knowledge, and grow their businesses.
Precision machining plays a critical role in nearly every manufacturing sector, including aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, energy, and electronics. The small and mid-sized companies that make up this industry are highly skilled, innovative, and essential to the strength of the American manufacturing economy.
The national NTMA was founded in 1943 to support the precision machining industry. In 1951, the Southern California Tool and Die Association was formed to help train workers entering the rapidly expanding post-World War II machining field. The organization later became the Los Angeles Chapter of NTMA in 1973 and is known today as SoCal NTMA.
Today, SoCal NTMA is one of the most active chapters in the NTMA network, bringing together manufacturers, industry partners, and educators who are committed to strengthening the future of precision manufacturing in Southern California.
